Since our beginning in 1820 as Charlottesville’s first church, Christ Episcopal Church has proclaimed the good news of Jesus Christ. Each week we hope to communicate the love of God summarized so powerfully by St. Paul in his letter to the Romans: “while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” This gospel message is for one and all and is the foundation of our life at Christ Church. Because of His love for us in Jesus Christ, we know that God AL- WAYS cares. God is always ready to listen. God wants you to tell Him everything – no detail is too small. As we read in 1 Peter, God asks that we cast our cares on Him, because He cares for us. We hope this will help you find your place within our community and get to know what is happening here. Please know that we at Christ Church are here to serve you.

The Makers Series! This Makers Series will feature artist talks from three Charlottesville makers: Lulu Miller (NPR's Invisibilia Podcast), David Zahl (Mockingbird) and Devon Sproule. This event is hosted by Christ Episcopal Church and co-sponsored by The Garage and New City Arts Initiative. Three artists present their work and then briefly speak about their creative process. Towards the end of the night, the floor opens up for Q&A. Our aim is to cultivate an artist salon that is both informal and thoughtful. We want to provide an opportunity for artists to present their work in front of a captive audience and to also invite them to share the less glamorous parts of their experience – the failures alongside the successes, the frustrations with the inspiration; everything that goes into the finished product. Light refreshments will be served (but eat dinner before you come). Meade Hall is located in Christ Episcopal Church. Use the entrance across from McGuffey Park on 2nd and Jefferson St. NW. For more information, visit the Facebook Event. Questions? Email Sam Bush at [email protected].
